Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of convert.express (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service in any way — including uploading a file — you accept these Terms in full.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

convert.express is an online audio and video transcription service powered by AI. You upload an audio or video file; we transcribe it and provide the result as a downloadable text file. The Service is provided as-is for personal and commercial use, subject to these Terms.

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or the EU
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Upload content that constitutes harassment, hate speech, or threats
• Use the Service for bulk automated abuse beyond intended use
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or probe the infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations without notice.

Anonymous use: You may upload a file and receive a 100-word preview without creating an account.

Registered accounts: Full transcript download requires a registered account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account or session.

• Free quota — registered users receive 10 free minutes of audio or video per calendar day (UTC). Unused quota does not carry over.
• Pay-as-you-go — audio or video beyond the daily free quota is charged at €0.02 per minute, minimum charge €0.50.
• Payment processor — payments are processed by Stripe. By paying you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
• Currency — all charges are in Euros (EUR).
• No refunds — transcription is performed immediately upon submission. Once processing has started, charges are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@convert.express within 14 days.

• Audio files — permanently deleted 24 hours after the job is created.
• Transcripts — permanently deleted 24 hours after the job is created.
• Usage records — retained for billing integrity.

It is your responsibility to download your transcript within 24 hours. We do not offer file recovery after deletion.

Your content: You retain all rights to your uploaded files and the resulting transcripts. We claim no ownership over your content.

Licence to us: By uploading, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process your file solely for the purpose of generating the transcript. This licence ends when the file is deleted.

No training: We do not use your audio, video, or transcripts to train AI models.

Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, accent, and technical factors. We do not guarantee that transcriptions will be error-free or complete. Do not rely on transcripts from this Service as the sole source of truth for legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes purposes without independent verification.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for loss of data beyond the 24-hour retention period described in these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which we are incorporated. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
